Physical and mechanical properties changes of the alumina-zirconia ceramics with the introduction of sintering additives MgO‒SiO2 and SiO2‒TiO2
The dependences of the change in the microhardness, strength and density of the composite in the Al 2 O 3 ‒ZrO 2 system depending on the content of MgO‒SiO 2 and SiO 2 ‒ TiO 2 additives were studied. Composite ceramics samples were obtained by semi-dry pressing with subsequent firing at 1400‒1550 °C. It was found that with a content of 5 % sintering additive and a firing temperature of 1550 °C, the microhardness and strength of the Al 2 O 3 ‒ZrO 2 composite ceramics with the addition of MgO‒SiO 2 are higher than those of the composite with the addition of SiO 2 ‒TiO 2 .
