FEATURES OF THE STUDY OF SAFE DISCIPLINES BY MEDICAL STUDENTS AT THE CURRENT STAGE

The article examines the specifics of the study of safety disciplines in the system of higher educational institutions of Ukraine at the current stage. The purpose of the research – to determine the priorities of training students of medical specialties in the field of safety disciplines and to determine approaches to modernizing their content at the current stage. The object of the study was the safety disciplines studied by students of medical specialties of universities of Ukraine. Research was based on systemic and activity approaches in education, methods of comparison, generalization and conclusions. Results. The paper analyzes the state of study of safety disciplines («Life safety», «Occupational safety in the industry», «Hygiene and ecology», «Civil protection»). It is shown that in many cases these disciplines were, at best, included in the curricula as subjects of free choice, or even not included in the educational programs at all. The final awareness of the importance of these issues came only after the large- scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. This issue has gained considerable relevance for the education of medical students, future front-line specialists in the provision of first aid to the civilian population and combatants. Special attention should be paid to the issues of civil protection, organizing the safe stay of the population in emergency situations, carrying out work to eliminate the consequences of emergency situations, providing the population and combatants with the first aid for fractures, bleeding, thermal burns, chemical and radiation injuries, development of dynamic stereotypes and algorithms of actions during military operations. An important basis for this should be the international experience gained as a result of improving the efficiency of academic mobility of students. Conclusions. Modernization of the teaching of safety disciplines for students of medical specialties at universities has become an urgent need of the hour. The formation and development of security competencies in terms of providing emergency aid, preserving the safety and life of the civilian population and military personnel should constitute the main content of security disciplines and be included in all educational and professional (educational) programs of educational specialties of universities as mandatory regulatory disciplines at the current stage.
