EDUCATION AS A GOAL AND FACTOR OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
It is shown that the current global ecological crisis is caused by a violation of the coevolution of man and nature. Man, as an integral part of nature, considers himself the pinnacle of evolution, because it is in him that nature achieves self-knowledge and self- understanding. At the same time, the prematurity of a person's self-definition as Homo sapiens is substantiated, because the actions and behavior of too many people demonstrate that they are still far from being sapiens. Since the main condition for harmonizing the relationship between man and nature is compliance with the norms of the Concept of Sustainable Development, an important role in it is given to education, which provides not only learning, but also personal development and the formation of social consciousness and its ecological orientation and ecological thinking. The practice of humanizing professional education and the corresponding system developed and successfully functioning at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” are revealed. The requirements for education and its use of innovative pedagogical technologies are given, which directly follow from the goals and characteristic features of sustainable development.
