Ensuring Ecological Security in the Course of Eliminating the Accumulated Environmental Damage at Sites Within Specially Protected Natural Reservations: Issues of Theory and Practice
Addressing the issue of ensuring environmental safety in the elimination of accumulated environmental damage at facilities exclusively within the boundaries of specially protected natural territories, the specifics of its legal regulation, is currently an urgent research task, due to the fact that this topic is somewhat deprived of the attention of specialists. However, the issue needs special attention from researchers and special legal regulation, since the consequences of harming the environment at facilities within such territories can be catastrophic, up to the complete destruction of unique ecological systems and natural landscapes, as well as the disappearance of endemic species of animals and plants. The article also analyzes the novelties of legislation regulating the legal institution of «elimination of accumulated environmental damage». As a result of the conducted research, the author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to develop special criteria for determining the category of objects of accumulated harm, taking into account their location within the boundaries of specially protected natural territories.
