Prices and Administered Pricing in Current Economic Circumstances
In the article, the author analyzes the opinions of leading Russian scientists on this issue, emphasizes the need for a balance between the interests of the state, the consumer and the manufacturer. The author argues that the rise in prices for consumer goods, especially the most in demand, worsens the standard of living of the least well-off segments of the population. The Bank of Russia aims to keep inflation at about 4%, and applies monetary policy to achieve this goal. Nevertheless, the author draws attention to the need to use other methods to limit price increases, and raises the question of their effectiveness and possible negative consequences for the economy. The article also notes that the strategy of economic security of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 was approved by the President back in 2017 and is aimed at ensuring national interests and implementing Russia’s strategic priorities.
