Third-generation-philic hidden naturalness
We present a solution to the electroweak hierarchy problem, where the relevant new particles are third-generation philic and hidden in Standard Model processes with third-generation fermions. Due to this feature, the mass bounds from direct searches are much weaker, and the required fine-tuning can be reduced drastically. A concrete model is constructed based on a <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:mi>S</a:mi><a:mi>U</a:mi><a:mo stretchy="false">(</a:mo><a:mn>6</a:mn><a:mo stretchy="false">)</a:mo><a:mo>/</a:mo><a:mi>S</a:mi><a:mi>p</a:mi><a:mo stretchy="false">(</a:mo><a:mn>6</a:mn><a:mo stretchy="false">)</a:mo></a:math> fundamental composite Higgs model with collective symmetry breaking and an extended hypercolor mechanism. The construction allows us to raise the scale <g:math xmlns:g="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><g:mi>f</g:mi></g:math> to <i:math xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><i:mo>∼</i:mo><i:mn>3</i:mn><i:mtext> </i:mtext><i:mtext> </i:mtext><i:mi>TeV</i:mi></i:math>, corresponding to resonances at <k:math xmlns:k="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><k:msub><k:mi>M</k:mi><k:mi>ρ</k:mi></k:msub><k:mo>≳</k:mo><k:mn>10</k:mn><k:mtext> </k:mtext><k:mtext> </k:mtext><k:mi>TeV</k:mi></k:math>, without much tuning—employing ingredients that are naturally inherent in the (composite) Goldstone-Higgs framework. The experimental signatures are discussed in detail. It is found that current bounds allow for a model with negligible tuning. Published by the American Physical Society 2024
