Silicon carbide-based ceramics, modified by polycarbosilanе infiltration and pyrolisis
Modified silicon carbide-based ceramic was fabricated by liquid polymer infiltration and pyrolysis of polycarbosilane. Phase composition, structure, physical and mechanical properties of solid-state-sintered SiC ceramics after polycarbosilane infiltration and pyrolysis was studied. The pyrolysis of a polycarbosilane was investigated up to 1800 °С through the analysis of the gas phase and the characterization of the solid residue by thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, X -ray (diffraction) analysis.
