Criticality accident dosimetry with human blood: The dicentric chromosome assay and the neutron activation as complementary techniques
• Blood samples were irradiated in a mixed radiation field of neutrons and gamma rays. • Dicentric chromosome assay and neutron activation technique were used for dosimetry. • Computational procedures were employed to distinguish gamma and neutron doses. • Results of both the dosimetry methods were in good agreement. • Advantages, disadvantages, limitations and pitfalls of the methods were discussed.
