A Wideband Miniaturized Microstrip Antenna for Sub-8 GHz New Radio for 6G Connectivity
A miniaturized microstrip antenna with loaded circular slots on a rectangular patch for application in the new radio band for future sixth generation ubiquitous seamless connectivity is presented. The proposed design has a good impedance matched VSWR bandwidth. Good return loss and good radiating pattern characteristic are observed at desired new radio band. The antenna is designed as a miniaturized plane geometry with line fed symmetric circular slots. Miniaturization was achieved after considering several techniques like loading and reshaping of antenna, shorting and folding. The antenna is etched on flexible RT Duroid substrate. Simulation was done using CST Microwave Studio. The parametrics affecting the quality factor and return losses of the antenna like ground plane dimension, substrate and patch dimensions are analyzed.
