Design of a KU Band Microstrip Antenna for Sattellite Communication
This paper present details the design of a Ku-band microstrip antenna for satellite communication, operating within the 12 to 18 GHz frequency range. Utilizing Rogers R T IDuroid 5880 as the substrate with a dielectric constant of 2.2, the antenna is designed and simulated using High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software. The resulting antenna demonstrates a return loss of -21.7541 dB, a resonating frequency of 17.7505 GHz, and a gain of 7.6524 dB, with a bandwidth of 1.5932 GHz. Applications include direct broadcast TV, broadband internet, and military communications, highlighting the antenna's significance in enhancing global connectivity.
