Bipartite Photonic Analysis: Terahertz Stripline Dipole Antenna
An antenna serves to convert radio frequency signals into alternating current and vice versa. In this study, a terahertz-frequency dipole antenna is designed using various substrate materials, including GaAs and FR-4. Performance analysis reveals that the silver dipole antenna with GaAs substrate achieves a gain of 1.464 dB and a directivity of 1.982 dBi, while with FR-4 substrate, it shows a gain of 1.563 dB and a directivity of 1.996 dBi. FR-4, although superior at resonant frequency, exhibits poor efficiency at higher frequencies, making it unsuitable as a substrate material for dipole antennas. Additionally, the antenna’s resonant frequency decreases with increasing substrate dielectric.
