Customized 3D-Printed Prototype Mold for Potential HDR Brachytherapy in Facial Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer
Surface mold brachytherapy (SMBT) is an appropriate and effective treatment for non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC). Manual manufacturing methods allow the development of personalized molds. However, it causes inconsistencies in the dosimetry of the established treatment plan, mainly due to the air gaps between the patient dermal surface and the mold. This work is focused on developing a manufacturing methodology for a prototype of a custom mold through additive manufacturing for potential application in BT in patients with NMSC.
