Characterization of Water with Added Salt using Microwaves

A permittivity sensor is used to measure the dielectric properties of water in the microwave range. The tests are performed without direct physical contact between the sensor and the samples. The results obtained show that it is possible to identify different levels of salinity in water with an inexpensive and simple method.
