A Discrete-Time Markov Chains Cloud-Based Trust Management Approach Model for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks
Recently, underwater wireless optical communication (UWOC) networks gain increasing attention in marine exploration, resource extraction, and other fields. However, UWOC networks are also facing various types of attacks. Most existing trust management schemes focus on the security of network nodes, which neglect attacks targeting links and hybrid attacks on both nodes and links. Considering a clustered underwater sensor network based on wireless optical communications, this paper proposes a trust management approach that utilizes the discrete-time Markov chains cloud-based model (DTMCC). DTMCC features a three-layer trust framework that comprises node-link-cluster levels, where the intra-cluster trust can be assessed by the nodes and links trust cloud and the inter-trust can be evaluated by the cluster head node trust, link trust, and data integrity. Additionally, DTMCC can predict node and link states, which helps restore normal nodes and links timely. Finally, simulation results indicate that DTMCC achieves a higher detection rate against hybrid attacks while maintaining a higher packet forwarding success rate.
