Optimized Mapping and Hybrid Transmission Integrating TAS and CQF in TSN

Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) is an emerging network technology with advantages such as low jitter, low latency, and deterministic transmission. In TSN scheduling, Time-Aware Shaper (TAS) plays a crucial role as a key mechanism, while Cyclic Queuing and Forwarding (CQF) simplifies the configuration of TAS. However, CQF has lower control precision and greater packet latency, making it unsuitable for transmitting critical information that requires high time sensitivity. Based on the hybrid traffic model that combines TAS and CQF, this paper designs a new scheduling method named the Optimized Mapping with K-Shortest Path (KSP-OM) algorithm. KSP-OM combines flow sorting with offset searching, lists the combinations of flows and offsets that meet the constraints, and selects the optimal combination of flows and offsets through a latency-aware Optimized Mapping Score (OMS). The higher the score of a combination, the higher its scheduling priority. The simulation results indicate that, compared to the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, KSP-OM achieves a maximum reduction of 46.9% in end-to-end delay. Compared to the Mapping Score-based Scheduling (MSS) algorithm and the Mapping Score-based Scheduling with K-Shortest Path (KSP-MSS) algorithm, KSP-OM achieves a maximum reduction of 54.3% in end-to-end delay.
