Economic Design of Variables Modified Double Sampling Plan under Double Specification Limits
In this article, we investigate an economic design of a variable modified double sampling plan to select the optimal parameters that minimize the total quality cost of the manufactured products. The suggested sampling plan can be applied for the inspection of the quality characteristics which are measured on a numerical scale with double specification limits. The economic plan parameters of the proposed sampling plan are determined by formulating an optimization model. The optimization problem is formulated as a nonlinear programming problem where the minimization of total cost is used as an objective function and the constraints are related to probabilities of acceptance of the lot at acceptable quality level and limiting quality level under the operating characteristic curve. A comparative study is also provided to show the effectiveness of the suggested plan. A real time application is also provided to explain the implementation of the suggested economic modified double sampling plan.
