A Versatile Precision Rectifier Providing Both Half-Wave and Full-Wave Outputs Using VCIIs

This article introduces a precision rectifier with working in transimpedance-mode. The outstanding features of the proposed rectifier are that not only it can simultaneously offer both half-wave and full-wave outputs without changing circuit scheme, but also the output amplitudes of half-wave and full-wave can be independently adjusted by resistors. The proposed circuit comprises 2 second generation voltage conveyors (VCIIs), 2 diodes and 2 resistors. The circuit performances are validated by PSpice simulation results, which agrees well with the expectation. The total power consumption is 0.643W at ±1.2V power supply. Output deviation due to temperature variation is lower than 0.01%/°C for both half-wave and full-wave outputs.
