Deep Learning Based Fire Detection System
Fires pose unpredictable threats to life, property, and the environment, making timely detection imperative for initiating rapid response measures and mitigating potential disasters. Recognizing this critical need, our project introduces a state-of-the-art Deep Learning-Based Fire Detection System. This system integrates both fire and smoke detection, addressing a gap often overlooked in conventional methods where smoke, a primary indicator of early fire stages, significantly enhances the system’s responsiveness to potential dangers. Our system, leveraging the advanced YOLO v8 architecture, is tailored to operate effectively in outdoor environments where fires can be equally destructive but are typically more challenging to detect. The proposed system demonstrates exceptional performance, achieving a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 0.918 and a recall rate of 0.99, underscoring its efficacy and reliability. By addressing the pressing need for early detection and highlighting the critical role of smoke detection, our innovative approach significantly enhances safety measures. Additionally, the system’s adaptability to diverse outdoor conditions and its integrated alert system make it a crucial tool in advancing fire detection and prevention efforts, thereby safeguarding lives, property, and the environment.
