Decentering the Human: A Posthuman Approach to Cybersecurity Education
This brief paper introduces a paradigm shift in cybersecurity education, advocating for a move from human-centric models to a posthuman approach that acknowledges the distributed and interconnected nature of modern cyber ecosystems. By decentering human agency and recognizing the active role of non-human actors, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), the development of more comprehensive, adaptive, and resilient security strategies is possible. The paper explores the potential of posthuman approaches in addressing emerging threats in AI-driven environments and examines the implications for cybersecurity education. Through a critical analysis of current limitations in human-centric cybersecurity models and an exploration of key posthuman concepts, this research aims to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on the future of cybersecurity education in increasingly complex technological landscapes, offering a theoretical framework for integrating posthuman concepts into cybersecurity curricula and providing a foundation for future research and educational design.
