A Novel Circular Flux Dual Rotor Generator
Dual rotor generators are pivotal devices for power generation, and certain design modifications can continuously enhance power output without changing the fundamental design structure. Modern energy production heavily relies on dual rotor generators, which utilize a stator and rotor rotating mechanism. Existing dual rotor generators typically operate on an axial flux flow mechanism, which has several drawbacks, including the need for a stator auxiliary supply, sensor requirements, complex design, and high maintenance. To address these issues, the authors propose a novel circular flux flow-based dual rotor generator. This new design aims to eliminate the disadvantages of the axial flux flow mechanism. By modifying the physical rotation of the stator winding mechanism along with the rotor rotation, the design enhances flux linkages at various operational speeds, resulting in increased power generation. This paper presents a prototype design of the proposed dual rotor generator. The prototype was tested and achieved maximum power generation at various stator and rotor speed variations. Additionally, the effects of power generation were examined for both clockwise and anticlockwise directions.
