Repair of giant pulmonary artery aneurysm and quadricuspid pulmonic valve with valve-sparing pulmonic root replacement
Pulmonary artery aneurysms (PAAs) are rare and can arise from congenital heart defects or connective tissue disease or be acquired from infection, vasculitis, and pulmonary arterial hypertension, or iatrogenically.1 Associated risks include dissection, rupture, and compression of nearby structures such as the left coronary artery. Given limited data, there is no consensus on a threshold for surgical intervention, but more than 5.5 cm has been suggested.1 Quadricuspid pulmonic valves (QPVs) are rare and most commonly reported as incidental findings in autopsy studies.
