Análisis de la relación entre la Reserva Cognitiva y la Satisfacción Vital en una muestra de personas mayores de 60 años y cognitivamente activas de la localidad de Villajoyosa
Theoretical Framework: Given the aging population, the challenge arises of facing the increased probability of suffering from pathological aging. One of the most effective ways to do this is by promoting active aging, which aims to achieve an optimal quality of life. Cognitive reserve (CR) plays an essential role in this, which has been related to life satisfaction and has been proposed as a protective factor against cognitive deterioration. This work aims to analyze the relationship between CR and life satisfaction in an older population sample. Method: To this end, the Folstein Minimum Mental State, the Cognitive Reserve Scale, the Cognitive Reserve Questionnaire and the Vital Purpose Test are administered to a sample of 61 older people who attend the Workshops for Active Aging and Healthy from the Department of Social Services and Equality of the Villajoyosa City Council. Results: The results show an assessment between the criterion variables and a positive linear relationship between educational level and CR. Conclusions: These types of studies in which the keys to improving the quality of life of older people are evaluated are currently an immediate need.
