Makna Simbolis dan Filosofi di Balik Gerakan Tari Tradisional Indonesia

This study aims to examine the symbolism and philosophy embedded in traditional Indonesian dance movements, as well as its role in conveying social and spiritual values. Using a literature review approach, this research collects and analyzes relevant literature published between 2015 and 2024, including indexed international journals, books, and academic articles. The analytical methods employed are thematic analysis and content analysis to identify key themes in the dance movements, such as harmony, unity, and the relationship between humans, nature, and God. The findings suggest that traditional Indonesian dance is not only a performance art but also an important medium for transmitting moral values and profound life philosophies, such as self-control, cooperation, and inner peace. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of preserving the symbolism and philosophy of traditional dance amid globalization and modernization, as well as efforts to integrate these cultural values into current education and artistic practices. This study provides deep insights into how traditional Indonesian dance can continue to maintain its relevance as part of the nation's cultural identity. Keywords: Dance Philosophy, Social Values, Cultural Preservation, Symbolism, Traditional Indonesian Dance.
