Samen reflecteren op synergie tussen therapeuten
This is the report of a qualitative practice study on synergy during co-therapy to groups of families with multiple and complex problems. The study was an attempt to give words to the meaning of this synergy. The central question was: what are elements in collaboration that enhance synergy? To give this question as much texture and substance as possible, we used a qualitative research method. In this paper, we attempt to define and describe the synergy between the authors as co-therapists. We also describe the followed methods of qualitative research. As far as we heard back and noticed, the synergy that we, the first two authors, experienced in our collaboration based on the connection between us as therapists, was perceived positively by the groups of clients we worked with. Other results from this study show that, among other things, creativity, musing aloud, daring to be vulnerable, being proud of the other person and being allowed to differ from each other are expressions of synergy. Finally, we also mention some pitfalls and make recommendations that can enhance the chances of constructive cooperation and synergy between therapists.
