Analysis of electric vehicle charging station usage and environmental sustainability in the UK

This research presents an in-depth analysis of electric vehicle (EV) charging station usage across two sites in the UK: Scotland and Newcastle University's Urban Science Building. Utilising data from publicly available sources, the study explores pattern s in energy consumption, charging station utilisation, and associated carbon emissions. Key trends and some significant factors that contributed to EV charging station usage were identified. The research underscores the environmental implications of these patterns, linking energy consumption with carbon intensity. The findings contribute to the ongoing development of sustainable EV infrastructure in the UK by offering insights into the factors affecting the usage and impact on carbon emissions.
