Hexa-β-alaninium tetradeca(bromido)tetraplumbate(II)
Abstract A new compound, ( β -AlaH) 6 (Pb 4 Br 14 ) ( I ), where β -AlaH is a cation of β -alanine, was synthesized; it crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1 ¯ . The tetradeca(bromido)tetraplumbate(II) anion (Pb 4 Br 14 ) 6− is located in a general position and forms a 2D-structure. The crystal exhibits photoluminescence at ambient conditions using 405 nm laser excitation.
