Attraction of Tilloidea unifasciata (Fabricius, 1787) (Coleoptera: Cleridae) by synthetic sex attractants from the series ‘EFETOV-2’ in the Crimea
Investigations of the biological activity of R- and S-enantiomers of butan-2-yl dodec-2-enoate (a patented name ‘EFETOV-2’) undertaken in the Crimea in 2013–2017 have shown the attractiveness of these substances for the males of Tilloidea unifasciata (Fabricius, 1787) (Coleoptera: Cleridae). T. unifasciata has been registered as non-target species in sticky traps with sex attractants from the series ‘EFETOV-2’ which are active for many Procridinae species (Lepidoptera: Zygaenidae). During our field work only the males (51 specimens) of T. unifasciata were captured in seven sites of the Crimean Peninsula. It gives reason to think that R- and S-enantiomers of butan-2-yl dodec-2-enoate (alone or in a racemic mixture) are sex attractants and are not aggregation attractants for this beetle.
