América Latina anos 70: desenvolvimento(s) e desenvolvimentismo(s) na encruzilhada
This essay is part of a more extensive work that seeks to understand architecture and urbanism, and more precisely the formation of the field of urban planning in Latin America, in relation to economic planning and development issues. The social thought that converged on ECLAC is embraced in its complexity, not only as a source of investigation of themes and objects, but primarily in theoretical-methodological terms. Developmentalism, analyzed through the theoretical framework of historical-structuralism, is employed to contemplate connections between past and future, consciously rejecting criticisms that have been directed at this tradition, in light of determinations imposed today by more crystallized geopolitical structures.
