A Wideband $2\times 2$ Stacked Antenna Array with 9.5 dBi Gain for MMW Applications

This study presents a novel <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2\times 2$</tex> stacked antenna array that specifically targets Millimeter-wave (MMW) applications. The proposed stacking configuration improves the antenna's bandwidth, where the proposed antenna achieves a bandwidth of 26% at 34.5 GHz. The antenna employs Rogers RO5808 substrate material, with a permittivity of 2.1 and a thickness of 0.787 mm. The antenna operates in the frequency range of 30 to 39 GHz, with a VSWR value of less than 2 across the entire frequency bandwidth and a high peak gain of 9.5 dBi. The proposed antenna exhibits an omnidirectional pattern, offering the advantage of broader coverage. The antenna's compact dimensions and highly effective design make it suitable for integration into various communication systems.
