Digital Twin Technology and Applications in the Medical Field: Bridging the Virtual for Precision Medicine
Based on its successful applications across various industries, digital twin technology serves as a virtual bridge connecting physical entities in the real world with their digital models, demonstrating significant potential in the medical field. This paper first introduces the fundamental elements and technical architecture of digital twins, including key technologies such as modeling, simulation, cloud computing and big data, and artificial intelligence. Subsequently, it explores the diverse applications of digital twins in medicine, such as real-time data monitoring, assisting in diagnosis and treatment, and the development of medical devices. Additionally, the paper analyzes the challenges faced in the application of digital twin technology in medicine, including data privacy and security, technological maturity, technology dissemination, and cost issues. It also proposes corresponding solutions and future prospects. In summary, this paper aims to elucidate how the extensive application of digital twin technology in the medical field will drive the development of precision medicine, accelerate the transformation of medical services towards intelligence, personalization, and efficiency, and contribute to the health and well-being of all.
