A Smart PID Temperature Control for Drying Plantain Flakes
The study focuses on designing and implementing a smart PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) temperature control system specifically for efficiently drying plantain flakes. The Arduino Nano microcontroller utilizes a PID algorithm to dynamically adjust the operations of the electric heater and fan based on real-time temperature data from the DHT11 sensor. This capability ensures that the system can achieve and sustain the desired temperature conditions necessary for drying. User interaction is facilitated through a 16×2 Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and push-button interface, allowing real-time chamber temperature monitoring and system status. Each component of this smart PID system is essential for creating a controlled and uniform drying environment. Integrating voltage regulators, transistors, resistors, capacitors, and diodes enhances power distribution and signal modulation, improving the system's reliability and stability. The article highlights an efficient, userfriendly system that optimizes the drying process for plantain flakes, demonstrating effective temperature regulation, rapid stabilization, and enhanced product quality through ZieglerNichols's tuning. Insights from stability and frequency response analyses confirm the system's adaptability, indicating its potential for broader agricultural applications, marking a step in precision farming and paving the way for sustainable agriculture.
