Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Vulnerabilities in Modern Web Applications

The storage of information on websites and the internet facilitates user data exchange. However, only those with authorization can access the content. Unauthorized parties also become interested in the vast amount of information available on the internet. Unauthorized parties employ various methods to gain access and information. One of them is caused by a cross-site scripting attack. This attack specifically targets the website. Understanding this type of attack is crucial for web-based information system developers, as it exploits weaknesses in programming or code writing within the information system. The results of this test found that 40% of websites were vulnerable to XSS attacks with the type are Reflected and DOM Based Attack
