Radiowave Pathloss Modeling Using Polynomial Methods for Wet and Dry Land Adan Rice Agriculture

The high demand for agricultural food to meet human needs continues to increase every year. This triggers the continued advancement of technology in the field of precision agriculture which involves wireless-sensor-network (WSN) to continue to be researched and developed. This technology is believed to provide convenience because it is low cost, high efficiency, high efficiency, and provides high productivity results. WSN takes advantage of advances in the internet and communication systems where this system is very dependent on the availability of internet interconnections. One of the main problems in WSN is the existence of pathloss in the propagation of radio waves from the transmitter (Tx) to the receiver (Rx) which depends on distance, agricultural conditions and the surrounding vegetation environment. This really determines the transmit power between Tx and Rx which ultimately affects the data sent to Rx. This paper provides modeling and analysis of radio wave propagation from RF measurements on the 2.4 GHz WSN system for Adan rice agriculture based on polynomial methods which will modify empirical models such as Free-space, Two-ray, Weissberger, lTU-vegetation, COST-235, and FITU-R involving dry and wet land conditions. Several other factors are also considered in the evaluation and analysis, i.e. the distance and height of the Tx-Rx antenna. The results of the experimental evaluation show that the proposed model, polynomial quadratic and cubic provide the best RMSE for RF system measurements of around 2.32dB and 6.80dB respectively compared to other empirical models.
