Capture of Air Temperature and Relative Air Humidity Related to Thermal Discomfort of Office Occupants Through a Cyber-Physical System
This article proposes to capture the temperature and humidity of the air at which occupants start to feel thermal discomfort in an office room equipped with an air cooling type inverter heat pump split system. This work shows the accomplishment of a Cyber- Physical System, CPS, collecting, registering, tidying, calculating and displaying time stamped physical quantities of a specific environment, in order to guide further application of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Techniques. The findings indicate the potential of a CPS which was designed for enhancing occupants thermal comfort and improving energy efficiency, as long as equipped with a suitable algorithm. The results were compared to the ASHRAE Global Thermal Comfort Database II, and showed, in this Database, a certain lack of observations for the humid subtropical climate region, where exactly the experiment of this article took place.
