Evaluating the Potential Adoption of Blockchain and IoT in Nigeria's Oil and Gas Industry Sector: A Technology Acceptance Model Approach
Nigeria's oil and gas industry is a multi-billion-dollar sector with a complex network of businesses, that pre-dominantly rely on manual supply chain processes, hindering service efficiency. with many actors in the sector, there is a need for transparent and reliable operations and transactions between parties. Blockchain and IoT can be leveraged to ensure efficient interactions. This study evaluates the interest and potential adoption of blockchain and Internet of Things (IoT) technology in Nigeria's oil and gas sector through the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). We surveyed key industry stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, academics, and truck drivers. Utilizing a null hypothesis methodology to analyze the data, our findings reveal a positive perception towards adopting blockchain and IoT technologies. This suggests that stakeholders and researchers should explore the potential of these technologies to enhance the sector.
