Enhanced Technology Acceptance Model for Evaluating Adoption of Cloud Computing in Colleges of Education in Ghana

Despite the transformative potential of cloud computing, its adoption in Ghanaian Colleges of Education (COE) remains sluggish and fragmented. Existing research often focuses on broader educational environments, ignoring the unique constraints encountered by COEs. This study bridges this gap by examining the barriers to cloud computing adoption in COEs using the Enhanced Technology Acceptance Model (ETAM) framework. The conceptual model includes five hypotheses related to Infrastructure, Education/awareness, Perceived convenience, Perceived Cost, and Perceived security. The study found a statistically significant association between the indicated parameters and cloud usage in Ghanaian COEs using the t-test, with each parameter having a p-value < 0.05. These findings provide critical insights for future studies and decision-making on technology adoption in COEs, emphasising the need for targeted strategies to enhance cloud computing adoption.
