Research on Miniaturized Base Station Antenna Used in 5G Communication
A certain type of small-sized dual-polarized base station antenna for 5G mobile communication is investigated. The antenna's fundamental structure includes a reflector, a radiating plate, a set of crossed dipoles, and two feeding baluns. the crossed dipoles and the microstrip feed line are printed on an FR4 substrate that is 0.8mm thick. The consequence tells that the antenna's working frequency was 3.0-4.2GHz. In the 3.0-4.2GHz frequency band, the return loss of the antenna was less than −10dB, the voltage standing wave ratio was less than 1.5, the port isolation was better than 29dB, the gain was <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$8.0\pm 0.3\text{dBi}$</tex>. The antenna measure is <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$0.41\}_{0}\times 0.41\lambda\times 0.15\}_{0}, \lambda$</tex> being the wavelength of the center frequency. This antenna encompasses all of the N78 frequency band, and simple process leads to characteristics such as miniaturization and high gain. And the antenna possesses qualities like a straightforward process, miniaturization, and high gain, and is capable of offering potential uses for 5G miniaturized base stations.
