Study on Appropriate Configuration of IEEE 802. 1TSN on Ethernet-Based Industrial Networks

This paper studies a numerical optimization method to find an appropriate configuration in CBS of IEEE 802. 1TSN and compares the obtained results with those of TAS. The authors' previous studies have proposed a method for finding an appropriate TAS GCL in industrial networks using numerical optimization. However, whether the proposal is also effective in the configuration of CBS is still being determined. This paper utilizes the above method to derive the parameter configuration when CBS and TAS are applied to each switch, respectively, by simulation. The experimental results show that the method found the most appropriate configuration in CBS. However, CBS fails to satisfy the delay constraints, whereas TAS does, indicating that TAS can meet more stringent delay constraints.
