ANALYSIS OF THE MAGNETIC AND THERMAL PROPERTIES OF CASTROL® MAGNATEC®OIL APPLIED TO INDUCTION MACHINES.

This article presents the study of the magnetic and thermal properties of Castrol® Magnatec®oil by developing a lab bench to carry out the tests and obtain the results. The lab bench has a single-phase induction motor to validate the studies and obtain the data. In this study, it will be verified if this oil has relevant magnetic characteristics for reducing magnetic losses present in induction machines, and the effectiveness of this oil as a cooler for this same induction machine will also be verified. At the end of the study, after the oil verification tests in comparison to other fluids, the applicability of a fluid that can improve the performance of an electric machine will be discussed, and which studies can arise from this article in order to direct future work in this application area.
