Evaluating the Elderly Suitability of Urban Rail Transit Public Area: An Experimental Study Based on a Cloud Model

With the aging of society becoming more serious, the proportion of the elderly in rail transit is increasing. However, rail transit stations often ignore the special needs of the elderly, and previous studies merely consider the Elderly Suitability (ES) evaluation of rail transit public areas. We propose a comprehensive framework for presenting the ES evaluation system of rail transit public areas, which consists of three stages: the ES index selection stage selects three-level indexes of evaluation in a hierarchical fashion; the index weight determination stage calculates the subjective and objective weight of ES indexes and determines the mixed final weight based on combinatorial optimization model; the ES evaluation stage evaluates the ES system based on the cloud model, which transforms the indexes and weight to the ES level and value. Based on the framework, we conduct a case study on Shuangjing station to evaluate its ES level and value.
