Viscoelastic Damage Rules and Mechanisms of SBS-Modified Asphalt under Spring Melt-Salt Corrosion Environment
Under the complex multi-environmental factors during the spring thaw period, the viscoelasticity of asphalt binders dramatically decreases, leading to the outbreak and frequent occurrence of pavement diseases. This study, by designing a UV-freeze-thaw-salt invasion multi-environment coupling simulation experiment, systematically investigates the viscoelastic damage rules and spring thaw salt erosion mechanism of SBS-modified asphalt based on shear rheological tests, infrared spectroscopy tests, and molecular simulation techniques. The results show that under the UV-freeze-thaw-salt invasion cycle, the elasticity of SBS-modified asphalt continuously decreases, the viscosity coefficient increases and the load-bearing ability greatly weakens. Moreover, the erosion of NaCl ions increases the repulsion between SBS-modified asphalt molecules, decreasing the stability of the asphalt structure.
