Travel Characteristics of Urban Bike Sharing Affected by Weather Factors
As a non-motorized mode of transportation, bike-sharing is more affected by natural environmental factors, such as weather, than by other factors. This paper mainly studies the impact of weather factors on the rate of bike-sharing in urban transportation and selects key weather factors, such as temperature and air quality, as the independent variables. It uses factor analysis, gray correlation degree, and multiple linear regression analysis to conduct the research. The gray correlation analysis shows that the temperature factor has the strongest influence on the weekday sharing rate, and the environmental measurable factors affect the weekend sharing rate of bike-sharing to the greatest extent. Variables such as temperature and heavy rain are found to be the main factors affecting the rate of bike-sharing. Finally, the author proposes suggestions for optimizing the supply and demand of bike-sharing.
