Data-Driven Analysis on Travelers’ Intention to Use the Carbon Credits on On-Demand Ride-Hailing Platforms: A Structural Equation Modeling Approach

In recent years, numerous on-demand ride-hailing platforms have integrated carbon credits into their services, incentivizing customers to choose low-carbon ride options. This initiative is recognized as a pivotal method to promote eco-friendly travel. Investigating the crucial factors influencing customers’ inclination to adopt the carbon credit system can offer valuable insights for both platforms and regulators in refining strategies related to carbon credits. Therefore, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on ride-hailing travelers, covering sociodemographic attributes and Likert scale questions exploring latent variables affecting users’ intention to use carbon credits. The findings reveal that travelers’ perceived usefulness, understanding, and environmental awareness significantly impact their willingness to adopt carbon credits.
