Traffic Organization Assessment Scheme with Consideration of Pavement Damage for Urban Roads Affected by Work Zone

To quantify the service level of urban road work zone, based on measured data, the traffic flow characteristics of bidirectional six-lane urban road work zone with different degrees of pavement damage were analyzed. Innovatively using the degree of road damage as a construction environment indicator, a traffic organization scheme evaluation method for urban road construction work zone was established. The results indicate that severe road surface damage has led to a maximum reduction of 14.5% and 61.4% in road traffic volume and average speed, with an average section speed difference of 27.21. Based on examples, the rationality of using the degree of road surface damage as an indicator for the evaluation system of traffic organization plans is confirmed.
