Analysis of the Influence of an Intelligent Connected Vehicle Warning System on Drivers’ Collision Avoidance Behavior on Slippery Roads
In order to explore the influence of an intelligent connected vehicle’s collision warning system on drivers’ collision avoidance behavior on slippery roads during highway driving, a driving simulation study was conducted under rainy and snowy weather conditions. An accident warning system was implemented within the simulation. Four sets of experimental scenarios were designed, taking into account varying levels of accident urgency and the activation of the warning system. Volunteer participants were recruited to complete a total of 64 sets of simulated experiments, and data regarding vehicle status and driver operations were collected. Descriptive metrics such as the driving stability, collision risk, and driver reaction time were derived. Finally, the intervention mechanism of the accident warning system and the characteristics of driver operations were analyzed. It is expected that this research could provide valuable insights for studying accident risks on highways in rainy and snowy weather conditions.
