Strength and Toughness Test of Waste Tires Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete
This study explored the use of waste tire steel fiber as a green waste tire powder in road construction. Results showed that waste tire steel fiber has a significant enhancement effect on the mechanical and toughness performance of concrete. Because it is not as strong or durable as conventional steel fiber reinforced concrete, 40% more fiber must be used as compared with conventional steel fiber, and this value for strength is about 25%–45%. The effect of datum concrete’s strength grade on the growth rate of flexural tensile strength of waste tire steel fiber reinforced concrete is weak, and the influence on the growth rate of the compressive strength and splitting strength can be neglected. In addition, with the increase of the waste tire steel fiber dosage, the load-deflection curve of concrete specimen is fuller, and the concrete is getting closer to the ideal elastic-plastic material.
