Research on the Lateral Acceleration Characteristics of Vehicles in Urban Underground Road Curves
To clarify the variation characteristics of vehicle lateral acceleration on the curve of urban underground road, the vehicle running data on the six curves of the main ring road in Chongqing Jiefangbei Underground Ring Road was collected by the real vehicle driving experiment. The variation characteristics of lateral acceleration on the curve and the correlation between lateral acceleration and vehicle running speed were analyzed. The results show the following: (1) The lateral acceleration increases in the entering curve stage, remains relatively stable in the middle section of the curve, and decreases in the exiting curve stage. (2) The variation range and discreteness of lateral acceleration are negatively correlated with the radius of the curve. (3) The greater the vehicle speed, the greater the lateral acceleration of the curve. The results of this study would be helpful to improve the comfort and safety of urban underground road curves.
