Study on the Pavement Luminance Demand Thresholds of the Interior Zone of Ultra-Wide Cross-Section Tunnel
Analyzing the drivers’ demand for the pavement luminance in the lighting environment of the interior zone of the tunnel, the dynamic visual recognition test with 24 drivers was conducted to study the drivers’ pavement luminance demand under different lighting source characteristics, establish the relationship model between the drivers’ sight distance and pavement luminance under specific lighting source characteristics, obtain the dynamic luminance demand threshold under the light source characteristics, and calculate the pavement luminance threshold to meet the drivers’ safety and comfort driving visual recognition demand under different lighting source characteristics and different design speeds based on the conversion coefficient. Based on the conversion coefficient, the pavement luminance thresholds that satisfy the drivers’ vision requirements are calculated, and the conclusions of the study provide a basis for improving the quality of the lighting environment in the interior zone of ultra-wide cross-section tunnels.
