Node Value Evaluation Method for Military Transportation Network under Peacetime and Wartime Scenarios
The layout and composition of the military transportation network significantly influence operational effectiveness, troop mobility, and service supply. An accurate evaluation of node importance becomes critical for subsequent strategic deployments. To this end, this paper proposes a node value evaluation method based on the hyper-network theory. First, the nodes are classified into military force nodes, service nodes, and transit nodes. Then, the network comprehensive performance is calculated using the node basic scores and the connectivity among subnetworks. The final score of a node is obtained by comparing the network performance before and after the removal of that node. The node ranks are discussed under three scenarios: peacetime, war preparation stage, and wartime. Results show that the importance of nodes varies in different conditions. The network topology plays a dominant role in determining the node ranking while improving other features of critical nodes can enhance the overall ability to withstand strikes.
