Coupling Analysis of Road Network Performance under Edge Random Failure
Exploring the structural and functional coupling of road networks is very important for the in-depth exploration of network performance evaluation. Based on the Space L model, a road network topology structure was constructed. Under the condition of random edge failure, graph theory and random user equilibrium assignment method were used to obtain road network topological and supply–demand metrics. Then, the correlation analysis method was adopted to analyze the coupling relationship between network topological and supply-demand metrics. Finally, a road network in the core area of Nanjing was selected as a case study for verification. The results show that the supply–demand characteristics are more sensitive than topological characteristics under the road’s edge random failures. Among the indicators of network supply-demand characteristics, the correlation between average speed, average delay, and network topological indicators is more significant.
